8 miles on the treadmill. Couldn't do the last mile...way too bored. Don't have any splits because I just ran a bunch of different treadmill programs.
| |
Treadmill workout. Set to a random setting. felt pretty good.
| |
| |
Last week went to Yellowstone with my family...we had a great time, but I wasn't able to run.
Workout today, 45 minute tempo run. 5 minute warm up 35 minutes at 1% incline 6.8 speed. 5 minute cool down.
I feel that I am starting to improve....cant wait to find my mojo
| |
Could only get 7 miles in. I was suppose to do 10. I think it might be that I mowed the lawn in the heat and it wiped me out. I just did one of the programs on the treadmill and felt weak the whole run. Oh well, there is always tomorrow!!!!!

| | Treadmill run, speed program. Felt a lot better than yesterday. | |

What a crazy day!!!! Took my cat in to get his leg checked (It took me over 1 hour to get him in the car carrier) and 250.00 later I had my cat back. Last night was very interesting. The cat was not liking being in the house and he hated the wrap they had put on his leg.
I started to run and was 3 miles into the run when my daughter came down to inform me he had shook his wrap off. I had to deal with that and by the time we got everything taken care of I wasn't in the mood for running. Then the night came. He stayed in the mud room and we put his little "Cone" on his head. If you thought the wrap bugged him, the cone was even worse. He cried all night long. At 4:00 in the morining I was walking him around the yard trying to get him to go the bathroom....NO LUCK.... Came back in the house and let him sleep with me, but the whole time he was meowing I ended up puting him in the mud room and tryed to get some sleep.
Woke up this morining and he had the wrap off again....2nd time of trying to wrap him up. I used duck tape this time and knew he wouldn't get out. Told my daughter she had to stay home to babysit him. She was not happy. Also informed her to take him outside to let him go the bathroom....TO LATE!!!... he found a nice spot to poop, right on my running blanket and he got his wrap off AGAIN.
This time it was not coming off. I grabbed an ace wrap and wrapped it around his stomach and down his leg and then used duck tape to keep it all in place. If he gets this off, I am going to die. He has had it on for about 1 hour now so things are looking good.
Long report for just 3 miles....I was feeling good and wished I could have finished my workout.

Ran 9 miles with Kathie with the safety of her height to keep me safe from the thunder
Came home and decided to try and get another run in. My husband had left to go hunting which left me home with my daughter. I ended up taking my daughter and her 3 friends with me (they were riding bikes). I wanted to go 10 miles, but by the time we got everyone ready and headed out I could only get 6 in before it go dark. It was very interesting going with all the girls. My average pace was 8:53, and I felt real good on the run.
| | I really do not like this work out, but it is over!!!. Turned on the TV to the UFC fights and hoped it would keep my mind off my pain while I watched two grown men beat each other up. Ran a 1/2 mile warm up then did 7x800. set the treadmill to a 1% incline 7.9. I was in quite a bit of pain but I finished it. Finished off with a 1/2 mile cool down. I hope this is all worth it!!! | |
| |
OK...I found something worse than UFC to watch. I spent the hour and watch Big Brother (11 or 12) I can't remember. Oh My HECK is this for real....the thing that scares me is I am assuming the 11 or 12 means how many seasons they have had. Do people really watch this. Anyway, I was so amazed with the show I actually ahd a good run.
1 mile warm up and then I did a hill program on the treadmill with a 1 mile cool down. Felt pretty good. I have noticed that I always struggle with hills during a race so I thought I had better start working on them more often.
| | Ran various program on the treadmill. Legs are feeling a little tired. |
| | Wanted to run 4 today, but decided I needed to get one more load of laundry taken care of before work. Kathie is coming to my house tonight to sleep over and if it isn't spotless I am sure she will have a fit :) | |

This run was possible because of Rhett. I kept saying to myself (from mile 6 to 13), Rhett told me when I wanted to quit, not to and keep running. I kept repeating this for 7 miles and it got me through this race. This run went a lot better than I had ever thought. Kathie and I took the first 6 pretty fast. Figured we would try and get ahead of our time on the down hill and then hold onto the end. Kathie and I kept hitting the wall at different points. When I hit the wall Kathie ran ahead and I just kept watching her and soon pulled her in. Then it was my turn to pull ahead and within a couple of miles Kathie was able to pull back even with me. Again, Kathie pulled ahead and I wasn't able to catch her until the last .2. We were able to finish together and both with a PR time. 1:48:12 (Garmine time, not official time), beat my last PR by 5 minutes. I was please with the race and it has really helped my confidence.
We have SF 1/2 to look forward to, but this run is for run and not time. It will be nice to just enjoy the run and being with Kathie.
Splits: 8:13,8:00,8:28,7:49 (with Potty break),8:02, 7:57,8:37,8:29,8:30,9:30 (had to walk a hill),8:35,8:48,7:35
Very pleased that all but two miles were faster than marathon race pace.
| | 7xhill workout. 1/2 mile warm up and 1/2 mile cool down. 6.5% incline 6.0 speed. I would run a 1/4 mile up then set the incline on 0.0 and run a 1/4 down. Felt good other than my legs were still a little sore from the race on saturday. Seemed to struggle a few times but was able to push through it. | |
| |
Ran a easy 7 miles. My legs felt a little sluggish, but I should expect that from my race on Saturday and then a hill workout on Monday.
9:10, 9:04; 9:09; 9:24 (had a dog following me and I was afraid he was going to get hit by a car. I had to keep yelling at him to get out of the road); 9:32; 9:59 (Had to stop and walk because some of the girls were out walking their lambs to practice for stock show, I didn't want to scare the lambs - Only in Spanish Fork) 8:41
| |
I had it all planned out...come home from work, run 5 miles...go get my daughter from cheer. Why can't things workout. I have the hardest time getting my schedule down. Anyway, long story short...no time to run. Hope I can get up early tomorrow and get 5 miles in.
Don't know if I can run tomorrow night...its my husbands birthday and he want to go out to eat....some things are a little bit more important than running!!! (Right?)
| |
Got up early to try and get my run in. I ran two miles on the treadmill at a 9:13 pace and then changed to the bike. I rode for 40 minutes. I put 6 miles down because in the 1 hour I was working out I would have gone close to 6 miles running. I think my body needed a break from running. The two miles on the treadmill seemed like 10.
Plan on going out to eat with the hubby and daughter. My husband just turned 45...I would lie and tell you I am much younger than him, but you can't lie to runners because you know my BQ time...therefore you know my age division :)
| | First of all I want to say THANK YOU to kathie. She was my pack horse. I forgot my fuel belt and so she carried my water, gu and whatever else needed. She is a GREAT!!!! Sister. My legs were not as tired as Kathies. I had missed two training runs due to schedule issues...don't get me wrong...I was tired, but I didn't feel as drained until mile 16 or so. Kathie had also lifted very hard the day before. Kathie is the type not to complain, I didn't realize she was so tired until really late in the run. I wish I could endure pain like she can. With all that said. I felt good about the run. I wish I felt stronger at the end, but we still have one more 20 before SGM to push and get our body ready for 26.2. Really enjoyed seeing Smooth on this run. She looked so happy and SMOOTH, FAST and STRONG. She can lighten your spirits by just a simply Hi and a HUG. Right after the run, I had a swim party planned with my Primary class, I hurried home to get ready for that. Had a fun time, but I am ready for a little nap!!!! | |
| | Treadmill run. Felt pretty good considering the 20 mile run on saturday. | |
| |
I decided to make peace with Kathie for at least one run. If the splits sound familiar its because I took Kathies splits and tried to match them up to the treadmill. The only difference, I didn't have the down hill and I didn't have the motivation of running after Kathie's Husband (I think that is just wrong ;).
1 - 6.6 1% 9:01
2- 6.7 1% 8:53
3- 6.9 1% 8:39
4- 6.0 3% 9:00
5- 7.1 0% 8:25
6- 7.0 1% 8:32
.2 Cool down | |
| | Treadmill Hill workout. Felt pretty good. Looking forward to this weekend. | |
| |
5 easy miles on the treadmill. I just put on one of the treadmill programs. I then got bored and really wanted to be done running so I put the treadmill on 1% incline and a 7.0 and finished the last mile. It is good to be done.
Now I have to clean my house for when Kathie and my mom come to sleep over. You now they give me the white glove test everytime they come :)

Spanish Fork 1/2 (13.1 Miles) 01:56:00
Teena here is the report...Sorry it was late, but McKenna has a big project due on Wed. and I had to spend the day getting it done.
Had Kathie and my Mom sleep over, we had fun just talking and going over the game plan for the next day. I took my mom out that night and showed her the course so she could prepare how she was going to run.
We planned on getting up around 5:30, but my husband went hunting at 5:00 so I was up then. I stayed in bed and tried to sleep, but not much of that.
Kathie and I had talked and decided to run this race in 1:59. Our goal was to break 2 hours. We knew it was going to be a tough course, so we decided just to run as a good training run.
We saw smooth and Maynard at the start and lined up with Smooth with the idea to stay with her. Boy she flew out of the shoot and Kathie and I didn't want to start with a pace like that. We kept her in our sights until about mile 6 when she really pulled away at the hill. She had a great run.
I felt pretty good on this run. Could really feel the hills and wish I could have handled them a little better. About mile 10 I stopped a girl with the number "2". I decided I was going to catch her. Started to get closer and closer. By mile 12 I had finally caught her and thought I could lose her and start making some distance. However, she had something different in mind. I could hear her right behind me the whole last mile. with about .2 left I decided to pick up the pace to try and pull away. We started to get closer to the finish and she had a lot of family cheering her on. I could she was close by the way they were yelling. With the finish in sight I caught a glimps of her trying to sprint by. I put it in 2nd gear and sprinted to the end to hold her off. She looked at me and told me thanks for pushing her to the end and I returned the thanks to her.
I think the run went very well, but didn't give me the confidence I was looking for to help me BQ at SGM. I was hoping that a 2 hour pace would have felt easier.
After the race Kathie, Mom, Maynard and I tried to win some fun prizes. I won some socks and my mom won a new Cool Pix Camera. I swear she is one lucky woman.
As a side note. My mom took first in her age group (she was the only one who ran), but she would have taken 1st in the age group below her and 3rd in the group below that. She has really done well with her 5K's

All I can say is, I AM GLAD THIS WORKOUT IS OVER!!!!!!
8x800 at 7:30 pace. For some reason I really dislike this workout, but I did it and it is over. I guess I should do it more often so it doesn't hurt so bad.
| | 10 Mile son the treadmill. Ran a couple of programs that I usually run. I usually have to stop in the middle of my programs, but this time I was able to run the entire time. YEA!!! | |
| | I hope I don't end up regretting what I did today. I decided that since I was able to run my TM workout without stopping I should try the same program and move it up. Well, I was able to finish the program, but my legs felt like jello. I am hoping they stop hurting by tomorrow. My 20 miler may be interesting...Lets you know tomorrow how it goes | |

OK....I am trying to decided what to eat the day of the big race. I got up this morning and had a banana and some yogurt. I never got sick, but the sweetness of the banana and the yogurt made it so when I tried to eat my gu I started to throw up. I was able to force my body to take one. I had a hard time drinking any gatorade, because the thought of putting anything sweet in my body would make me sick. I did bring oranges up and at mile 16 ate (drank) the juice from 4 of them. They really saved me. I still need to decide what to do the day of the race. I can say that after the run I did not get sick....was very tired from getting up at 4:30, but I was not sick.
The run went OK. I was really glad kathie was there, because she was pushing the pace today. I know if I was on my own it would have been A LOT slower. My Jello legs were very tired. I could feel every little hill. I also had another thing happen that I can't explain. My breathing was very labored. I didn't feel like I was tired, but if you listened to me breath you would have thougth I was dying. At one point Kathie stopped to walk because she thought my breathing was so bad. I can't explain it. I have had a little sore throat for a couple of day.....but I wouldn't say I am sick.
Anyway, my splits were: 9:15, 8:56, 9:01; 9:25; 9:03; 9:34; 9:38; 9:02; 10:08; 9:16; 9:05; 9:02; 9:16; 9:04; 9:06; 9:15; 9:04; 9:04; 9:09; 10:16
It was really great that we saw Teena today, she looked so strong. If she was stuggling she didn't show it. What a great runner!!!!
| |
Kathie was able to tell you a story so I am going to tell you mine. I came home from work and my husband had bought chip and salsa....I love chips and salsa. I took the next 1/2 hour and had my fill of chips and salsa. Then decided to go run.....let me tell you chips and salsa DO NOT taste as good while you run......
Anyway, my workout today was hill repeats. I did 6 at a 5% incline 6.5 speed. I would run "up" the hill for a 1/4 of a mile and then turn the incline to a 0% and run "down" the hill for a 1/4 of a mile. Felt pretty good, the last one was the only one that I did the clock watch and was wishing it would hurry up. I started off with a 1 mile warm up and a 1 mile cool down.
| | Felt pretty good, Still struggled on my breathing, but not as bad as Tuesday. I think I will be OK by this weekend when I run my 12 miles. | |
| | Treadmill workout. Felt pretty good. |
| |
This run didn't feel as good as I wish it would have. I thought I would wait until 8:00 to start my run so I would be running some of it in warmer weather. It was really hard not to get up at 6:00 and get the run over with. My splits are a slower than I would have liked them to be.
9:31; 9:06; 9:11; 9:00; 8:57; 9:12; 8:41; 8:58; 9:32 (Hill with water stop); 9:35 (don't know what happened here 9:40; (major hill and I am feeling dead); 9:01
| | 1/2 mile warm up and then a hill workout on the treadmill. Ranged anywhere from a 6.2 0% incline to a 7.0 5.5% incline. Got really light headed towards the end, but I give that to not eating well for lunch and then really pushing the workout. Felt pretty good, but needed to stop a couple times. | |
| | 4 miles on the treadmill. 3 at 9:00 pace and 1 at 8:45 pace |
| | Slooooooooow miles on the treadmill watching Survivor!!!! Felt pretty good. Looking forward to my last saturday run before the big day!!! | |
| |
Goal was to have a good easy run. Wanted to keep my pace around 9:30, which I did. Average pace was 9:33.
Splits: 10:09 (had to stop and let cars pass), 9:34, 9:30; 9:16; 9:12; 9:15; 9:23; 9:28
Felt good, my breathing is still an issue, wish I knew what it was. Off to see my Nephew run a cross-country meet. I am so excited!!!!
| |
.5 warm-up at 1% incline 6.4 4x400 at 1% 8.0 .5 cool down
