Today I tried to beat my last 3 mile time of 26:54. I started out with a 1/2 mile warm up and ran my 3 miles. I did have to take a small 30 second breather at 1 1/2 miles. I finished the 3 miles in 25:49. I feel that taking the breather allowed me to continue to push my body so it can get use to going at faster speeds.
My splits were:
Mile 1 = 8:29 (probably went out too fast)
Mile 2 = 8:33 (could not have done this without the breather because there was a big hill)
Mile 3 = 8:46 I need to work on finishing strong. My problem has been burning up and then not finishing very well. Next time I will try and start slower and finish around 8:15. |
